Job Description

Affinius Capital is seeking an analyst to join its Credit team with a focus on portfolio management and restructuring. The credit platform invests in a myriad of commercial real estate credit strategies including stabilized, transitional, and construction financings ranging from low leverage fixed-rate loans up through preferred equity investments. The portfolio management and restructuring analyst will play an integral role in the ongoing monitoring, analysis, and management of this portfolio. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated underwriting and transaction execution experience. The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of real estate markets and credit fundamentals, and experience with loan documentation and asset valuation.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Support the workout process for distressed loan restructurings, developing comprehensive underwriting models to evaluate investment performance and analyze restructuring strategies.
  • Participate in restructuring negotiations with borrowers, co-lenders, and servicers.
  • Create and present detailed investment memos outlining resolution strategies.
  • Monitor the performance of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans (bridge, construction, mezzanine, preferred equity, and stabilized debt).
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and prepare internal reporting on portfolio performance, risk ratings, and concentration exposures.
  • Collaborate with asset management, originations, and credit teams to assess borrower performance and evolving market risks.
  • Update and maintain portfolio databases, dashboards, and risk metrics.
  • Additional duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate credit, loan portfolio management, or workouts
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (Excel, Argus, etc.)
  • Familiarity across commercial real estate asset classes (office, retail, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, life sciences) and capital structures
  • Excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in analyzing loan documents, covenants, and legal agreements
  • Ability to manage multipl complex transactions in a dynamic environment
  • Must be willing to work on-site
  • Qualifications may warrant placement in different job title

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), Affinius Capital is including a good faith estimate for this role with a starting annual base salary of $100,000. The base salary is just one component of the position’s compensation package.  Employees may also be eligible to participate in Affinius Capital’s discretionary Annual Bonus program and other employee benefit programs, subject to the specific terms and eligibility requirements of such programs.
