Job Description

The Senior Associate, Corporate Finance assists with the financial accounting and reporting of the company’s investment advisor business and related entities. This role will provide strong analytical and accounting support to the team and management relating to the preparation, review, and analysis of the corporate-level financial information in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

 

Essential Duties May Include:

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly/annual financial statements in Workiva, including supporting schedules, tie-out, and annual footnotes in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly and ad-hoc financial presentations and variance explanations for management reporting and reviews.
  • Prepare departmental G&A budget templates based on trends for review by leaders. Solicit feedback and ensure timelines are met. Package and analyze annual consolidated budget for review.
  • Review budget to actual results and advise management of trends. Perform preliminary reviews to ensure variances are investigated and resolved timely for reporting.
  • Prepare workpapers and ensure timely fulfillment of financial reporting requirements and PBC’s for external and internal audits and tax accountants. Promptly inform management as to any discrepancies or any other problem areas that may exist.
  • Perform complex tasks with a high level of attention to detail and organization.
  • Research accounting treatment under US GAAP, including impact of new accounting standards as issued.
  • Perform accounting, analysis, and other tasks related to the Company’s investments.
  • Responsible for tracking of and deliverables associated with debt and other compliance.
  • Interact with internal and external customers, other team members, and all necessary departments to ensure prompt resolution of issues and maximum efficiency of operations. This includes review and oversight of data from other departments or external parties.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate tasks, ensuring deadlines are met while having a continuous improvement and team-oriented mindset. Identify areas where tasks may be automated and/or streamlined and recommend/implement solutions.
  • Manage special projects and ad-hoc deliverables or duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA is preferred
  • 5+ years’ public accounting experience (big 4 preferred), or equivalent industry experience in corporate accounting
  • Heavy US GAAP financial reporting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and deadline oriented
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced collaborative work environment, while being flexible, adaptable, and having fun
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and positively with all levels of employees, executives, and third-party personnel
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Willing to work longer hours during peak reporting times
  • Must be willing to work on-site

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commercial real estate accounting experience
  • Real estate accounting software or Yardi experience
  • Workiva experience
  • Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level
